Features of the Perception and Construction of Melodies II. Creative Workbook and Supplement Volume

The release of the book “Features of the Perception and Construction of Melodies II“ is in preparation for fall 2025. It will again be published by emanomedia, Zurich. This work, which is based on Volume I published in 2021, alternates between two areas. One area is intended as a further development and deepening of various theoretical topics from Volume I. The main focus here is on the build-up and reduction of tension in tonal music and the topic of symmetry, which is closely related to the topic of tension. The other section of the book is practice-oriented and is intended as a creative workbook. This means that the various theoretical topics from volumes I and II are linked to a large number of tasks designed to help composers and improvisers as inventors of melodies to systematically put their knowledge of the features of melodies into practice.
